Which documents do I need to provide to the landlord?
The required documents may vary per landlord, but we recommend having the following documents ready:
For employees:
- Copy of ID or passport
- Recently signed employer’s declaration (and employment contract if applicable)
- The three most recent pay slips
- The three most recent bank statements showing the salary, in accordance with the pay slip
- Extract from the Municipal Personal Records Database (GBA)
If you already live in a rental property:
- Recently signed landlord’s declaration
- Bank statements showing visible debits of the last three months’ rent
For self-employed persons:
- Copy of ID or passport
- Recent extract from the Chamber of Commerce (KvK)
- Profit and loss account for the last three years
- IB60 form for the last three years
- Extract from the Municipal Personal Records Database (GBA)
If you already live in a rental property:
- Recently signed landlord’s declaration
- Bank statements showing visible debits of the last three months’ rent
Matchrent does not charge a commission, but I still receive an invoice from the broker?!
When you hire an agent to find a property for you, that agent does a lot of work and it is understandable that they charge a commission for this. However, if you find a property yourself without a search with an agent, you do not have to pay the letting agent any commission. If you have already paid, you can claim your money back.
